Weekly Journal May 2 – May 8

What an eventful week here in the Philippines! It was the last week before our elections and Mother’s Day weekend. There seemed to be something happening every day. I think I spent my week eating and baking though. haha 🙂

My mom had her best friends over and they had a full day of catching up over food. I was so happy I timed my baking day when it happened and was able to enjoy the colorful spread.

Casa San Luis Pastries participated in two events this week. Our regular monthly bazaar the American Women’s Club of the Philippines Bazaar and the private media launch of the the Spectrum Fair which will be held next weekend May 14-15 in Whitespace, Pasong Tamo Makati.

The weekend baking was filled with Strawberry Tres Leches cakes for Mother’s day. I was happy to have made these sweet treats for someone’s special Mom. I spent Mother’s day with my mom, she prepared a delicious seafood spread for us.

We took our friends to Greenhills to buy their souvenirs and we took advantage to buy our pasalubongs for our upcoming trip. We brought them to Gloria Maris for dimsums, noodle soups, roast ducks and other Chinese food delicacies. We were only 4 but I might have ordered for a family of 10. That’s what happens when you go to a restaurant on an empty stomach.

Today is D-Day! I just wish we have clean elections and that the actual vote of the people are counted. Let’s start this new week with a positive outlook for the Philippines
